The product can also be used to remove odors and disinfect after bacteria, yeast and mold attacks.
With ProtoxHysan you get a product with many functions and options. The product is especially good for removing mold, removing odors and disinfecting. The product is used like other cleaning agents and can be combined with mechanical cleaning with a stiff brush.
One of the biggest advantages of ProtoxHysan is that the product breaks down mold and bacteria right down to the cell wall. This means that all mold is removed – both living and dead.
Another major advantage is that ProtoxHysan does not pollute the indoor climate (see ProtoxHysan’s indoor climate report). The chlorine dioxide breaks down into oxygen and salt.
A third advantage of ProtoxHysan is that the agent both removes odors and disinfects after, for example, cloudbursts, rising sewage water and dead animals and people. ProtoxHysan also disinfects bacteria. It is therefore a preferred product when it comes to cleaning and sanitation in these situations.
ProtoxHysan is included/registered in the database for building products that can be used in Nordic Ecolabelled buildings.
The product has been tested according to EN standards EN 1650, EN 1276 and EN 13697. And according to an indoor climate report made by Eurofins A/S, the product does not burden the indoor climate after use. There is therefore no limitation on the size of the treated area.
Active ingredient: In situ formation of Chlorine Dioxide by acidification of Sodium Chlorite.
ProtoxHysan is a specially developed product against mould, odor problems and for disinfecting bacterial growth. The product may be used by private and professional consumers for everything from window sills to major renovation tasks. ProtoxHysan can therefore be used in several different ways and for different purposes depending on the task and scope.
ProtoxHysan has a faint chlorine-like odor. The product does not contain perfume or other fragrances and therefore does not pollute the indoor climate after treatment.

The product may corrode (damage) some metals and bleach certain colored and colored surfaces/materials.
ProtoxHysan and ProtoxBiox are both used to clean mold and bacteria, but the products are used in different ways and on different surfaces. That’s why we’ve created a user manual that shows you when and how to use the two products.
The purpose of the user manual is to achieve better quality control of the solution of the tasks. Therefore, we have also included various methods for how both internal and external control can be carried out in the user manual.
The user manual is in PDF format. You can therefore print it out, laminate it and take it with you on assignments so that you always know how to proceed with the individual assignment.

ProtoxHysan comes in both ready-to-use and concentrate form. The ready-to-use spray bottle must not be diluted further. The concentrate can be diluted as needed based on the following:
Particularly stubborn discoloration: Concentrated ProtoxHysan
Severe attacks: 1 part ProtoxHysan + 1 part water
Medium-severe infestations: 1 part ProtoxHysan + 2 parts water
Light attacks: 1 part ProtoxHysan + 3 parts water
Consumption is approximately 0.5 liters of solution per m2, depending on the absorbency of the substrate.
The product should not be stirred before use.
ProtoxHysan must not be exposed to temperatures above 50°C or added to acid, as this can cause chlorine dioxide to form (see data sheet).
Ensure good ventilation during the treatment and during the drying period.
Always read the instructions for use and the safety data sheet before using the product.
It is important to remove the cause of the mold infestation. If the cause is not removed, the mold will most likely return. In some cases, it is not possible to remove the cause. In this case, you can instead prevent new mold infestations with ProtoxSkimmel.
After 1 day of application, the surface can be wiped with a damp cloth. This is usually not necessary if you follow the instructions for use.
If you are removing mold on a larger area (more than a few A4 pages) and especially if you are removing mold-affected materials (eg wallpaper, plaster, render or insulation), there is a risk that dust and mold spores may be released into the air. We therefore recommend that you use a respirator of type P3 or better. A typical combination respirator of type B2/P3 protects you against inhaling particles from the mold and against inhaling aerosols when spraying ProtoxHysan.

You can also remove bad odors with ProtoxHysan. The odor may be caused by mold growth, bacterial growth, dead animals, corpses and other things.
The odor is removed by soaking or washing the affected surfaces with ProtoxHysan or by mist spraying with the product. Mist spraying is especially effective in difficult-to-reach areas.
The treatment can also be combined with the ProtoxAbScent bag, which is hung up to remove residual odor.
Drying time is 4-8 hours at 20°C.
Tools and equipment are cleaned with soap and water after use.
The product must be stored in a dark and cool place and must not be stored together with food.
ProtoxHysan has a shelf life of 12 months in unopened packaging.
Empty packaging can be thrown away with the household waste.
If you want to check yourself whether the mold has been removed, you can do so with a ProClean test. The ProClean test is a standard protein test that shows whether the mold proteins have been removed. You can perform the test as early as 10-15 minutes after using ProtoxHysan.
